Estimated Costs
There are two types of Canadian visas: a temporary resident visa and a permanent resident visa.
Temporary resident visas are for people who will be in Canada for a specific, objective reason such as visiting family, study or work. Permanent resident visas are for people who want to live in Canada permanently. The application process for both types of visas can be complex and require documentation that can vary depending on the type of visa you are applying for.
The estimated costs of obtaining a Canadian visa depend on the type of visa you are applying for and the required documents. For example, the fee to apply for a temporary resident visa is typically $160 plus applicable taxes, while the fee to apply for a permanent resident visa is typically $595 plus applicable taxes. Additional fees may also be required, such as an application fee for permanent residents of Quebec, which is currently $165.
