Brand awareness tips for your business

In order to be business-minded, you need to consistently push your brand out there through brand awareness. The online space is crucial in promoting your brand. Not only does it allow for a larger platform to bring in clientele, consumers expect to be able to search up your brand in order to make informed shopping decisions. 

While you may have a website, you need to ensure you have at least one social media presence and that your overall online presence is effective or it will have a negative impact on the impression of your brand. Build your Facebook page

Facebook is the one platform that consumers expect to see you on. It is recommended that you have more than one social media platform, however, if you are limited on resources, Facebook is the one you should prioritize. Users are more likely to follow your brand on Facebook due to there being no stigma on the number of pages liked on Facebook, unlike that of Instagram.

Once you have Facebook, the key is consistency. Post consistently, create engaging content and respond to users comments and messages. In order to build your following, you can create Facebook ad campaigns and specifically choose the brand awareness objective.

The organic way to bring in followers and increase brand awareness is through posting at least three times a week as well as inviting people to like your page. There are two routes for this to fully optimize your invites. This first route may not be a preference, but it will bring in the most followers. It’s recommended doing this from your personal account and suggesting to your employees, family and friends to do the same. 

How to invite friends to like your page:

  1. Click your Facebook page
  2. Click the three dots on the top right
  3. Click “Invite Friends” 
  4. Select all, or alternatively select specific friends
  5. Click “Send Invites”.

When your post receives more than three reactions, you can invite users to like your page. To avoid build up, you should do this at least once a month. The popular posts will allow more opportunities to invite people.

  1. Click the reacts to reveal who has engaged
  1. Click “Invite” next to those users who don’t already like your page

Create content calendars 

Generating monthly content calendars will smoothline your organic posts and set direction for your posts in order to generate brand awareness.

Set up a calendar template on Word or excel sheets which holds two columns – one for the post image/video/link and one for the caption. Instead of creating a new table each month, you can simply copy the entire document by clicking “File” then “Save As” on the previous content calendar document and renaming.

We recommend having a structure for each calendar. If there are three location reveals in the previous month’s calendar, simply replace each of these posts with a new location reveal. The same goes for the other types of posts. This template can evolve as you analyse your audience insights at the end of each month. You may find specific posts do better than others, and therefore incorporate these more into your content calendar templates.

Utilise Search Engine Optimisation  

Unlike ads which are only temporary, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a long term brand awareness investment. SEO is the use of various techniques to rank your site higher on search engines. This means those who are actively searching for the product or service you offer, your site will appear and you will receive organic traffic and brand recognition. 

You should use on-site SEO optimisation techniques such as incorporating high-ranking and low-competition keywords in your copy. To further benefit your ranking, off-site SEO, link-building, is recommended, especially if you are in a competitive market. Link-building is essentially having your website linked published on high-quality sites within blog posts, press releases or within your account bio for forums and more.  

Physical branding

Take advantage of the space you have to optimise brand awareness. Whether you’re in an office, industrial warehouse or elsewhere, placing posters, prints and signage displaying your branding will automatically generate awareness for guests and clients. You can do physical branding professionally and through the use of acrylic display boxes, acrylic display cases, acrylic display stands, sign holders and more. These are aesthetically pleasing and durable.

This is how it used to be done in the good old days when the digital realm didn’t exist. It is a low-cost, effective tool for brand awareness so to truly reach your potential for brand awareness, you should take it on board. On the contrary, if your workspace isn’t appealing, it will leave a bad impression, damaging your brand.
